🔧 Camry - Front Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement

The front wiper blades on your Camry are quick to replace and usually snap off the wiper arm with a simple tab release. Fresh blades restore clear visibility in rain and reduce streaking, skipping, and chatter.

Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.2-0.5 hours

⚠️ Safety & Precautions

  • Keep the wiper arm under control so it does not snap back onto the glass.
  • Do not let the bare wiper arm hit the windshield.
  • Turn the ignition off and make sure the wipers are fully at rest before starting.
  • If the hood is open, keep hands clear of the cowl area near the wiper arms.

🔧 Required Tools

You'll need the following tools for this repair:

  • Safety glasses
  • Work gloves
  • Microfiber towel

🔩 Required Parts

HowToo sells all the parts you need for this repair:

  • Front wiper blade, passenger side 20" - Qty: 1

📋 Before You Begin

  • Park on level ground and shut the vehicle off.
  • Make sure the wiper switch is in the OFF position.
  • Lift one wiper arm at a time to avoid scratching the glass.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Lift the driver-side wiper arm

  • Use your hand to lift the driver-side wiper arm away from the windshield.
  • Place a microfiber towel on the glass under the arm for extra protection.
  • Keep a firm grip on the arm.

Step 2: Remove the old blade

  • Press the release tab on the wiper blade connector with your fingers.
  • Slide the old blade downward to unhook it from the arm.
  • Set the old blade aside.

Step 3: Install the new driver-side blade

  • Slide the new 26" wiper blade onto the arm until it clicks into place.
  • Gently tug the blade to confirm it is locked on.
  • Lower the arm carefully back onto the windshield.

Step 4: Replace the passenger-side blade

  • Repeat the same release-and-slide method on the passenger side.
  • Install the new 20" wiper blade and make sure it clicks firmly.
  • Lower the arm slowly onto the glass.

Step 5: Test the wipers

  • Turn the ignition on and run the wipers with washer fluid.
  • Check that both blades sweep smoothly with no chatter or skipping.
  • If one blade is loose, remove it and reinstall it until it locks.

✅ After Repair

  • Spray washer fluid and confirm both blades clear the glass evenly.
  • Check for any clicking, lifting, or streaking.
  • Recheck blade fit after the first rain or wash.
