š Before You Begin
- Park on level ground and shift to Park.
- Put the wipers in service position: turn ignition ON, then turn ignition OFF, then within 10 seconds move the wiper stalk up once (mist) so the arms āparkā up on the windshield.
- Lay a shop towel on the windshield under each wiper arm.
šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Lift the wiper arm
- Use nitrile gloves and lift one wiper arm away from the windshield until it holds itself up.
- Keep the shop towel on the glass as protection.
Step 2: Release the blade from the wiper arm
- Use safety glasses and look where the blade connects to the arm (the āadapter,ā which is the plastic connector).
- Press the small release tab/button on the adapter, then slide the blade down and off the hook-shaped end of the arm.
- If stuck, wiggle while pressing the tab.
Step 3: Install the new blade
- Use nitrile gloves and slide the new bladeās adapter onto the wiper arm hook until it clicks/locks.
- Gently tug the blade to confirm itās fully latched.
Step 4: Lower the arm carefully
- Use the shop towel as a buffer and lower the wiper arm back onto the windshield slowly.
- Repeat Steps 1ā4 for the other side.
Step 5: Return wipers to normal park position
- Remove the shop towel.
- Turn ignition ON and run the wipers once, then turn them OFF to confirm they park normally.
ā After Repair
- Test washers and wipers at low speed, then high speed.
- If you see streaking, clean the windshield and the new blade rubber with a damp shop towel.
- Make sure each blade is the correct side (22" driver, 21" passenger) and fully clicked in.
