š Before You Begin
- Park on level ground, shift to Park, and turn the ignition OFF.
- Lay a clean towel across the lower windshield area where the wiper arms could touch.
- If you need extra clearance, use wiper āservice positionā: turn ignition ON, turn it OFF, then within 20 seconds hold the wiper stalk to MIST for about 2 seconds to park the wipers upright.
šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Lift the wiper arms safely
- Use your hands (gloves on) to lift the driver-side wiper arm away from the windshield.
- Keep the clean towel on the glass under the arm.
Step 2: Remove the old blade (J-hook style)
- Look where the blade connects to the arm. If the arm end looks like a hook, itās a J-hook.
- Press the small release tab using your thumb or a small flathead screwdriver.
- Slide the blade down toward the base of the arm to unhook it, then pull it off.
- Donāt pry hardātabs break easily.
Step 3: Remove the old blade (top-lock / pinch-tab style)
- If the connector looks like a flat ācapā on top (not a hook), itās usually a top-lock/pinch-tab.
- Pinch the side tabs with your fingers (or gently with a small flathead screwdriver), then slide the blade straight out of the connector.
Step 4: Install the new blade
- Match the new bladeās connector to the arm type (J-hook or top-lock).
- For J-hook: slide the hook into the new blade connector and pull until it clicks and locks.
- For top-lock/pinch-tab: slide the blade into the arm connector until it clicks.
- Gently tug on the blade by hand to confirm itās locked in.
Step 5: Lower the arm and repeat on the other side
- Carefully lower the wiper arm back onto the windshield by hand.
- Repeat Steps 1ā4 for the passenger-side wiper blade.

- Remove the clean towel from the windshield.
- Turn ignition ON and run the front wipers with washer fluid to verify smooth wiping and no streaks.
- If a blade chatters or skips, clean the windshield edge where the blade rests and re-check that the blade is fully clicked in.
