- Lift each wiper arm away from the windshield carefully.
- Place a microfiber towel under the wiper arm on the glass.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Lift the wiper arm
- Use your hands to gently lift the wiper arm until it stays up.
- Set a microfiber towel on the windshield under the arm.
Step 2: Remove the old blade from the J-hook
- At the center of the blade, find the small release tab where the blade connects to the arm.
- If the tab is stiff, use a small flathead screwdriver to help press the tab. Don’t pry against the glass.
- While pressing the tab, slide the blade down and off the hook.
- J-hook means the arm end is shaped like a “J”.
Step 3: Install the new blade
- Compare the new blade to the old one for length before installing.
- Make sure the new blade has the correct J-hook adapter installed (most new blades include several adapters).
- Slide the new blade onto the hook until you hear/feel a solid “click.”
- Gently tug the blade with your hands to confirm it’s locked on.
Step 4: Lower the arm carefully
- Hold the arm with your hand and slowly lower it onto the windshield.
- Remove the microfiber towel.
Step 5: Repeat on the other side
- Repeat Steps 1–4 for the other front wiper blade.
