How to Replace Front Turn Signal Bulbs on a 2021 Jeep Gladiator (Fender Flare Lamp)

🔧 Gladiator - Front Turn Signal Bulb Replacement
On your Gladiator, the front turn signal is typically built into the front fender flare (the amber lamp at the front corner). Replacing the bulb means removing the lamp from the flare, swapping the bulb, and reinstalling everything securely so it stays sealed and doesn’t flicker.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.3-0.7 hours
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- 🧤 Let the lamps cool before touching the bulb or housing.
- 🔌 Keep the ignition OFF and key away while working near lighting circuits.
- 🧼 Don’t touch the new bulb glass with bare fingers; skin oils can shorten bulb life.
- đź”’ Make sure the lamp seals back into the flare fully to keep water out.
🔧 Required Tools
You'll need the following tools for this repair:
- Nitrile gloves
- Safety glasses
- Plastic trim removal tool set

đź“‹ Before You Begin
- Park on level ground, shift to 1st gear, and set the parking brake.
- Turn the ignition OFF and switch all exterior lights OFF.
- Turn the steering wheel away from the side you’re working on to create more hand space at the fender area.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Confirm which front signal you’re replacing
- Use a flashlight and identify the amber lamp at the very front of the fender flare (front corner).
- If the lamp is a sealed LED unit (no removable bulb socket), the repair is lamp-module replacement instead of a bulb.
Step 2: Remove the lamp from the fender flare
- Use a plastic trim removal tool set to gently pry at the lamp edge where it meets the fender flare.
- If needed, use a small flat-blade screwdriver to assist, but pry gently to avoid gouging the flare.
- Pull the lamp straight out until the retaining clips release.
Step 3: Remove the bulb socket
- Hold the lamp with one hand and twist the bulb socket counterclockwise by hand.
- If it’s tight, use the nitrile gloves for grip (better traction, less slipping).
- Pull the socket straight out of the lamp housing.
Step 4: Replace the bulb
- Put on nitrile gloves so you don’t touch the bulb glass.
- Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket.
- Push the new bulb straight into the socket until fully seated.
- If it’s stuck, wiggle gently—don’t twist hard.
Step 5: Reinstall the bulb socket and lamp
- Insert the socket back into the lamp and twist clockwise until it locks.
- Align the lamp tabs/clips with the fender flare opening.
- Press the lamp in firmly by hand until it “clicks” and sits flush.
Step 6: Repeat on the other side (recommended)
- Use the same plastic trim removal tool set and repeat Steps 2–5 on the opposite front signal.
- Replacing both keeps brightness and color even.
âś… After Repair
- Turn the ignition ON and test left and right turn signals.
- Turn on parking lights and confirm the front lamps operate normally (if your bulb is dual-function).
- Verify the lamp sits flush and doesn’t pop out when lightly tugged.
- If you get fast-blink/hyperflash, you may have an LED bulb on a non-LED circuit or a poor socket connection.

Quick check so I can match the exact part (2 questions):
- Does your Gladiator have factory LED front signals (sealed LED lamp), or does it have a removable bulb socket?
- Is the bulb you’re replacing the amber front fender-flare turn signal, or the front side marker/parking light?
