🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open access to the back of the headlight

• Open the hood.
• Use a flashlight to look behind the headlight on the side you’re replacing.
• If your hand space is tight, use a plastic trim removal tool set to pop up any nearby intake/snorkel push-clips (if equipped) and gently move the ducting aside. Only move what you need.

Step 2: Find the turn signal bulb socket

• Put on nitrile gloves (medium) and safety glasses.
• Reach behind the headlight and feel for the turn signal socket (it’s a plastic twist-lock socket going into the headlight housing).
• Use a flashlight to confirm you’re on the correct socket (turn signal is typically the amber bulb location).

Step 3: Remove the bulb socket

• Grip the socket and twist it counterclockwise about a quarter turn by hand, then pull it straight out.
• If it’s stuck, reposition your grip and try again—don’t force it hard enough to crack the socket.

Step 4: Remove the old bulb

• Pull the bulb straight out of the socket (it’s a push-in style on most setups).
• Use the flashlight to compare the old bulb to the new one so the base matches.

Step 5: Install the new bulb

• With nitrile gloves (medium) on, push the new amber bulb into the socket until fully seated.
• Optional: apply a very light smear of dielectric grease (small packet) to the socket seal area (not on the bulb glass).

Step 6: Reinstall the socket

• Insert the socket into the headlight housing and twist clockwise until it locks.
• Reinstall any intake duct clips you moved using the plastic trim removal tool set (press clips fully down by hand).

Step 7: Function test

• Turn on the hazards and confirm the new front turn signal flashes normally.
• Walk around and check both sides. If one side “hyper-flashes” (very fast), a bulb is still out or not seated.

• Recheck that the socket is fully locked and the bulb is working with hazards and both turn signals.
• If the bulb doesn’t light: remove the socket again and reseat the bulb firmly, then retest.
• Replace the other side too (pairs match brightness and color).
