- Park on level ground, shift to Park, and set the parking brake.
- Turn the lights OFF and make sure the turn signal stalk is centered.
- Open the hood and use a flashlight to see behind the headlight housing.
šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Confirm which side youāre replacing
- Turn the ignition ON briefly and switch on that sideās turn signal.
- Walk around and confirm which front turn signal is out, then turn ignition OFF again.
Step 2: Access the turn signal bulb socket behind the headlight
- Stand at the front of your Kicks and look behind the headlight on the same side.
- Use a flashlight to find the turn signal bulb socket (itās a round socket that twists out of the headlight housing).
- If a wiring connector blocks your hand, gently move it asideādo not pull on wires.
Step 3: Remove the bulb socket
- Put on nitrile gloves.
- Grip the socket and rotate it counterclockwise about a quarter-turn, then pull it straight out.
- Tip: Twist first, then pullādonāt pry.
Step 4: Remove the old bulb from the socket
- Pull the bulb straight out of the socket (itās a push-in type on most Kicks).
- If itās stuck, use a small flathead screwdriver very gently to help, but donāt crack the socket.
Step 5: Install the new bulb
- With nitrile gloves on, push the new bulb straight into the socket until fully seated.
- If you accidentally touch the glass, wipe it with alcohol and let it dry before installing.
Step 6: Reinstall the socket and test
- Insert the socket back into the headlight housing, then rotate clockwise to lock.
- Turn ignition ON and test the turn signal and hazard lights.
- Make sure the bulb flashes at a normal speed (a fast flash usually means a bulb is still out somewhere).

- Verify both front turn signals and both hazards work.
- Check that the socket is fully locked and the wiring is not rubbing on anything hot or moving.
- If the new bulb doesnāt light, swap it to the other side to confirm itās good, then re-check the socket connection.
