How to Replace Front Turn Signal Bulbs on a 2018 Nissan Armada (Step-by-Step)
Tools, bulb type, safety tips, and fixes for a dead signal or fast-blink (hyperflash)

🔧 Armada - Front Turn Signal Bulb Replacement
You’ll replace the front turn-signal bulb by accessing the back of the headlamp housing, twisting the bulb socket out, and installing a new amber bulb. This fixes fast-blink (hyperflash), a dead front signal, or a dim/incorrect color signal.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.3-0.8 hours
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- ⚠️ Turn the lights off and let the headlamp cool before reaching behind it.
- ⚠️ Do not touch the new bulb glass with bare fingers; oil can shorten bulb life.
- ⚠️ Secure the hood with the prop rod and keep loose clothing away from the cooling fan.
- Battery disconnect is not required for this bulb swap.
🔧 Required Tools
You'll need the following tools for this repair:
- Nitrile gloves

📋 Before You Begin
- Park on level ground, shift to Park, and set the parking brake.
- Open the hood and support it with the prop rod.
- Quick check: turn the hazards on and confirm which front side is out, then turn them back off.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Identify the correct bulb socket at the headlamp
- Use a flashlight to look behind the headlamp housing.
- Find the socket that corresponds to the turn signal (not the low beam or parking light).
- If unsure, tell me which bulb is out and I’ll point it out.
Step 2: Remove the turn-signal bulb socket
- Put on nitrile gloves and safety glasses.
- Grip the socket, then rotate it about a quarter-turn counterclockwise by hand and pull it straight out.
- Torque: Not applicable (twist-lock socket; no threaded fasteners).
Step 3: Remove the old bulb from the socket
- Pull the bulb straight out of the socket (it’s a friction fit).
- If it’s stuck, gently wiggle it while pulling—do not crush the glass.
Step 4: Install the new bulb
- Install the new bulb into the socket by pushing it straight in until fully seated.
- Keep your fingers off the glass; use the nitrile gloves to handle it.
Step 5: Reinstall the socket and confirm it locks
- Insert the socket back into the headlamp opening, making sure the tabs line up.
- Turn clockwise by hand until it stops and feels fully locked.
- Torque: Not applicable (twist-lock socket; no threaded fasteners).
Step 6: Repeat on the other side (recommended)
- Use the flashlight and repeat Steps 1–5 on the other front turn signal.
- Replacing in pairs keeps brightness and color matched.
✅ After Repair
- Turn the ignition on and test: left signal, right signal, and hazards.
- Walk around and confirm the front turn signal flashes at a normal speed (not fast).
- If the bulb doesn’t light, remove the socket again and make sure the bulb is fully seated and the socket is fully locked.

Two quick questions so I can keep this 100% accurate for your Armada:
- Which side are you replacing: driver, passenger, or both?
- When you look behind the headlamp, do you see a twist-lock bulb socket you can reach by hand, or is access blocked by an air duct/washer filler neck?
