- ā ļø Turn the ignition OFF and switch all lights OFF before starting.

- ā ļø Donāt touch the glass of the new bulb with bare fingers (skin oil can shorten bulb life). Use gloves.
- ā ļø Battery disconnect is not required for this job.

š Before You Begin
- Park on level ground, shift to neutral, and set the parking brake.
- Open the hood and use a flashlight to locate the rear of each headlight assembly.
- Tip: Test hazards after installing each bulb.
šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Confirm the correct bulb/socket
- Turn the ignition to ON and switch on the hazard lights, then turn ignition OFF.
- Use a flashlight and look behind the headlight youāre working on.
- Find the turn signal bulb socket (itās a twist-lock socket going into the back of the headlight).
Step 2: Create working room (passenger side, if needed)
- If your hand space is tight, remove the front air intake duct/snorkel.
- Use a trim clip removal tool to pop up any plastic push-clips.
- Use a 10mm socket with a 1/4" ratchet to remove any 10mm bolts holding the duct.
- Lift the duct out and set it aside. Torque to 9 Nm (80 in-lbs) when reinstalling 10mm bolts.
Step 3: Remove the turn signal bulb socket
- Put on nitrile gloves and safety glasses.
- Reach behind the headlight and grasp the turn signal socket.
- Rotate the socket counterclockwise about 1/4 turn by hand, then pull it straight out.
Step 4: Remove the old bulb
- Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket by hand.
- If itās stubborn, wiggle gently while pullingādonāt twist hard.
Step 5: Install the new bulb
- Install the new amber 7440A bulb by pushing it straight into the socket until fully seated.
- Avoid touching the glass. If you accidentally touch it, wipe it clean and dry.
Step 6: Reinstall the socket and test
- Insert the socket back into the headlight housing.
- Twist clockwise about 1/4 turn until it locks snugly by hand (do not over-tighten).
- Turn ignition ON and test the turn signal and hazards to confirm normal flash rate.
Step 7: Reinstall any removed duct/clips
- Reinstall the intake duct/snorkel (if removed).
- Use a 10mm socket and 1/4" ratchet for bolts. Torque to 9 Nm (80 in-lbs).
- Reinstall push-clips using the trim clip removal tool to align them first, then press them in.
ā After Repair
- Verify both front turn signals flash at a normal speed on left and right.
- Check that the bulb is amber and evenly lit (no flicker).
- If the signal flashes fast, re-check the bulb is fully seated and the socket is locked.
