🔧 Front Turn Signal Bulb - Replacement
Replacing the front turn signal bulb on your Grand Cherokee is a straightforward job if your truck has the factory halogen headlamp setup. The bulb is serviced from the front lamp area, and it’s best to replace both sides if one has failed so the signal color and brightness stay matched.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.5-1 hour
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- Turn the lights off and remove the key fob before starting.
- Let the headlamp area cool if the lights were on recently.
- Do not touch the glass on halogen bulbs with bare fingers; skin oil shortens bulb life.
- If your Grand Cherokee has LED front lamps, this bulb procedure does not apply.
- Battery disconnect is not required for this repair.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Access the front lamp area

- If access is tight, use the flat plastic trim tool to carefully release any nearby air duct or cover clips.
- Work gently around painted edges.
Step 2: Remove the turn signal bulb socket
- Reach behind the headlamp housing and find the turn signal bulb socket.
- Twist the socket counterclockwise by hand; if it is tight, use a small amount of steady pressure and avoid forcing it.
- Pull the socket straight out of the housing.
Step 3: Replace the bulb
- Remove the old bulb from the socket.
- Install the new front turn signal bulb, amber into the socket until it seats fully.
- Do not touch the bulb glass with bare fingers.
Step 4: Reinstall the socket
- Align the socket tabs with the headlamp opening.
- Insert the socket and twist it clockwise until it locks.
- If you removed any duct or cover, reinstall it and tighten any 8mm fasteners snugly.
Step 5: Test the new bulb
- Turn the ignition on.
- Activate the turn signal for the side you repaired.
- Check that the new bulb flashes normally and that the lens is seated correctly.
✅ After Repair
