š§ Pacifica - Front Turn Signal Bulb Replacement
On your Pacifica, the front turn signal is either a replaceable amber bulb (most common) or an LED built into the headlamp (not a bulb). The job is usually done through the front wheel-well liner behind the headlamp.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.5-1.0 hours
ā ļø Safety & Precautions
- ā ļø Turn the vehicle OFF and keep the key fob at least 10 feet away so lights donāt auto-activate.
- ā ļø Let the headlamp area cool before reaching in (bulbs and housings can get hot).
- ā ļø Hybrid note: do not touch any orange high-voltage wiring; this repair does not require high-voltage shutdown.
- ā ļø If you lift the van, support it with jack standsānever rely on a jack alone.

- Push-pin retainer clips (wheel liner) - Qty: 2-6 (optional, in case any break)
š Before You Begin
- Park on level ground, shift to Park, and set the parking brake.
- Turn the steering wheel fully away from the side youāre working on to open up space in the wheel well.
- Have your flashlight ready so you can clearly see the back of the headlamp.
šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Confirm if you have a replaceable bulb or LED
- Use a flashlight and look behind the headlamp from the wheel-well area.
- If you see a twist-out socket with wires going into it, you have a replaceable bulb.
- If there is no bulb socket and it appears sealed with an LED board/module, itās an LED unit (jump to Step 8).
Step 2: Create access at the front of the wheel-well liner
- Turn the wheel outward for more room (no tools).
- Remove the small front section of the liner fasteners using a trim clip remover (specialty) (a forked tool that pops plastic clips out) and a flat-blade screwdriver as needed.
- If your liner uses small screws instead of clips in spots, remove them with an 8mm socket and ratchet.
- Gently pull the liner back just enough to reach the back of the headlamp. Donāt crease the liner.
Step 3: Remove the turn signal bulb socket
- Locate the turn signal socket on the back of the headlamp (it will have a wiring connector attached).
- Grip the socket and rotate it counterclockwise about 1/4 turn to unlock it.
- Pull the socket straight out.
Step 4: Remove the old bulb
- Wear nitrile gloves to keep oils off the bulb glass.
- Pull the bulb straight out of the socket (some are snugāwiggle gently while pulling).
Step 5: Install the new bulb
- Install the new amber bulb by pushing it straight into the socket until fully seated.
- Do not touch the glass. If you do, wipe it clean and dry.
Step 6: Reinstall the socket
- Insert the socket back into the headlamp opening.
- Rotate clockwise about 1/4 turn until it locks.
Step 7: Reassemble the wheel-well liner
- Reposition the liner.
- Reinstall clips using the trim clip remover (specialty) (press the body in, then press the center pin to lock).
- Reinstall any screws using the 8mm socket and ratchet.
Step 8: If your Pacifica has LED front turn signals (no bulb socket found)
- LED turn signals are typically not a ābulb replacementā item; the repair is usually replacing the LED module or the entire headlamp assembly.
- Use a flashlight to confirm there is truly no twist-out bulb socket.
- If you want, tell me whether the turn signal is in the headlamp or in the mirror, and Iāll give the exact replacement path for the LED unit.
ā After Repair
- Turn the vehicle ON and test left and right turn signals and hazards.
- Verify the turn signal flashes at a normal speed (fast flashing can indicate a bulb not seated or the wrong bulb type).
- If you removed a wheel: tighten lug nuts in a star pattern and Torque to 176 Nm (130 ft-lbs).
