🔧 Juke - Front Turn Signal Bulb Replacement
Your front turn signal bulbs sit inside the headlight housing. On your Juke, the most beginner-friendly access is usually through the front wheel-well liner so you can reach the bulb socket without removing the headlight.
Assumption: Most 2016 Juke front turn signals use an amber wedge bulb (commonly 7440A). If your new bulb doesn’t match the old one, return it and match by shape.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.5-1.0 hours
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- ⚠️ Work on level ground and chock the rear wheels.
- ⚠️ Turn the ignition OFF and lights OFF before starting.
- ⚠️ If you raise the front, support it with jack stands—never rely on a jack alone.
- ⚠️ Do not touch the glass of halogen bulbs with bare fingers (skin oil can shorten bulb life).
- ⚠️ Battery disconnect is not required for this job.

HowToo sells all the parts you need for this repair:
- Front turn signal bulb (amber) - Replace in pairs - Qty: 2
📋 Before You Begin
- Park on a flat surface, shift to 1st gear, and set the parking brake.
- Chock both rear wheels.
- Turn the steering wheel fully away from the side you’re working on (gives more hand room).
- Clip tool prevents breaking plastic fasteners.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Access the wheel-well area
- Turn the steering wheel full lock away from the bulb you’re replacing.
- If you want maximum room, use a floor jack to lift the front corner and set it on jack stands.
- If removing the wheel for extra space, loosen/tighten with a 19mm lug wrench. Torque to 113 Nm (83 ft-lbs) when reinstalling.
Step 2: Pull back the front fender liner
- Use a trim clip removal tool to pop out the plastic push-clips along the front part of the liner.
- Remove any small screws using a Phillips #2 screwdriver.
- If there’s a small bolt, remove it using a 10mm socket, 3/8" ratchet, and 6" extension.
- Peel the liner back just enough to get your hand to the back of the headlight.
Step 3: Remove the turn signal bulb socket
- Use a flashlight to find the turn signal socket at the back of the headlight (it’s the socket that twists out).
- Grip the socket and rotate it counterclockwise about 1/4 turn, then pull it straight out.
- If it’s tight, wiggle—don’t yank.
Step 4: Replace the bulb
- Put on nitrile gloves.
- Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket (wedge-style bulb).
- Push the new amber bulb straight into the socket until fully seated.
Step 5: Quick function test
- Before reassembly, turn the ignition to ON and switch on the turn signal for that side.
- Verify it flashes normally (not rapid). Then turn everything OFF.
Step 6: Reinstall the socket and liner
- Reinsert the socket into the headlight and twist clockwise about 1/4 turn to lock.
- Reposition the wheel-well liner.
- Reinstall the bolt (if equipped) using a 10mm socket. Torque not specified: snug, do not overtighten.
- Reinstall screws with a Phillips #2 screwdriver and push-clips using the trim clip removal tool.
- If you removed the wheel, torque lug nuts with a 19mm lug wrench: Torque to 113 Nm (83 ft-lbs).
✅ After Repair
- Test left and right turn signals and the hazard lights.
- Make sure the wheel-well liner is secure and not rubbing the tire.
- If you still have rapid flashing, the bulb may be the wrong type or another signal bulb may be out.
