š§ Outlander - Front Turn Signal Bulb Replacement
Your Outlanderās front turn signal bulbs sit inside the headlight housings. Replacing them is usually a quick ātwist-and-pullā job from behind the headlight, then you test the flashers to confirm everything works.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.5-1.0 hours
Assumption: Your Outlander uses a standard front turn-signal bulb accessible from behind the headlight (most common setup).
ā ļø Safety & Precautions
- ā ļø Turn the ignition OFF and switch lights OFF before starting.
- ā ļø Let the headlight area cool if it was recently on.
- ā ļø Wear gloves; donāt touch the new bulb glass with bare fingers (skin oil can shorten bulb life).
- ā ļø Support the hood securely before working under it.

- Use a flashlight to identify the turn signal socket (typically closer to the outer side of the headlight).
Step 2: Create working room (only if itās tight)
- If your hand canāt reach the socket comfortably, remove nearby plastic covers/ducting.
- Use a trim clip removal tool to pop up the centers of plastic clips, then pull the clips out.
- Use a 10mm socket with a 1/4" drive ratchet to remove any small bolts holding a duct or cover.
- Use a Phillips #2 screwdriver if any screws are present.
- Set clips/screws in a cup so they donāt vanish.
Step 3: Remove the turn signal bulb socket
- Grip the socket firmly.
- Twist the socket counterclockwise (about a quarter turn) and pull it straight out.
Step 4: Remove the old bulb
- Wear nitrile gloves.
- Pull the bulb straight out of the socket (itās a push-in style on most setups).
Step 5: Install the new bulb
- Install the new amber bulb by pushing it straight into the socket until fully seated.
- If you accidentally touch the bulb glass, wipe it with alcohol and a clean lint-free towel before installing.
Step 6: Reinstall the socket
- Insert the socket back into the headlight housing.
- Twist the socket clockwise until it locks.
Step 7: Reinstall any covers/ducting you removed
- Reinstall any bolts using a 10mm socket and 1/4" drive ratchet.
- Reinstall plastic clips by pushing the clip body in first, then press the center pin down.
Step 8: Repeat on the other side
- Do the same procedure for the other front turn signal bulb.
- Replace both sides so color/brightness match.
ā After Repair
- Turn ignition ON and test left and right turn signals.
- Turn on the hazard lights and confirm both front signals flash evenly.
