🔧 Front Turn Signal Bulbs - Replacement
This job replaces the front turn signal bulbs on your Accord. On this model, the bulbs are accessed from behind the headlight housing, so you usually do not need to remove the bumper. If the access opening is tight, the air intake duct may need to be moved aside for extra room.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.5-1 hour
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- Turn the lights off and remove the key before starting.
- Let the bulbs cool before touching them; they can get very hot.
- Use gloves when handling new bulbs. Skin oil can shorten bulb life.
- Do not touch the glass part of a halogen bulb with bare fingers.
- Battery disconnect is not required for this repair.
🔧 Required Tools
You'll need the following tools for this repair:

📋 Before You Begin

- Open the hood and secure it fully.
- If the access area is tight, be ready to move the intake duct gently aside.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the hood and locate the turn signal socket
- Open the hood and stand in front of the headlamp housing.
- Find the rear of the front turn signal bulb socket behind each headlight assembly.
- Work one side at a time.
Step 2: Make room if needed
- If the driver side access is tight, use the 10mm socket and ratchet to loosen the intake duct fasteners enough to move the duct slightly.
- Do not force any plastic parts.
Step 3: Remove the bulb socket
- Use your hand to twist the bulb socket counterclockwise.
- Pull the socket straight out of the headlamp housing.
- Twist gently, then pull straight.
Step 4: Replace the bulb
- Press the old bulb into the socket and turn it counterclockwise to remove it, if it is a twist-lock style.
- Install the new front turn signal bulb into the socket.
- Make sure the bulb seats fully and sits straight.
Step 5: Reinstall the socket
- Insert the socket back into the headlamp housing.
- Twist it clockwise until it locks in place.
- If you moved the intake duct, reinstall and snug the 10mm fasteners by hand with the ratchet and 10mm socket.
Step 6: Test the new bulb
- Turn the ignition on.
- Activate the turn signal and confirm the new bulb flashes.
- Repeat on the other side if needed.
✅ After Repair
- Check both front turn signals for proper flash rate.
- Verify the bulb is fully seated and the lens area is clean.
- If one side still does not work, inspect the socket for corrosion.
