• 🛞 Turn the steering wheel fully away from the side you’re working on (this creates more room in the fender area).
• 🔦 Use a flashlight so you can clearly see the bulb socket and tabs.
• 🔧 A “trim clip removal tool” is a small pry tool that pops plastic fasteners out without breaking them.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Choose your access method

• Use flashlight to look behind the headlight from the engine bay; if your hand fits, you can often reach the turn signal socket from above.
• If access is tight, use the fender-liner method in Steps 2–4 (most beginner-friendly).

Step 2: Create access through the front fender liner (recommended)

• Place wheel chocks behind a rear tire.
• If you want maximum space, slightly loosen the front wheel lug nuts using a tire iron or 21mm lug wrench, then lift with a floor jack (rated 2-ton minimum) and support with jack stands (rated 2-ton minimum).
• Remove the wheel using a tire iron or 21mm lug wrench (optional but gives more room).
• Remove a few fender liner fasteners near the front corner using a flat trim clip removal tool and Phillips screwdriver #2.
• Peel the liner back by hand to access the rear of the headlight.

Step 3: Remove the turn signal socket

• Use a flashlight to locate the turn signal bulb socket on the back of the headlight (it’s a twist-lock socket).
• Grip the socket by hand (use nitrile gloves for better grip) and rotate it about 1/4 turn counterclockwise to unlock.
• Pull the socket straight out.

Step 4: Replace the bulb

• Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket using nitrile gloves.
• Push the new front turn signal bulb (amber, 7440/7440A type) straight into the socket until fully seated.
• Don’t touch bulb glass directly. Use nitrile gloves.

Step 5: Reinstall the socket and reassemble

• Insert the socket back into the headlight and twist clockwise by hand until it locks.
• Reposition the fender liner and reinstall clips/screws using the flat trim clip removal tool, Phillips screwdriver #2, 10mm socket, and 1/4" ratchet (snug, do not overtighten).
• If you removed the wheel, reinstall it and tighten lug nuts using a tire iron or 21mm lug wrench, then lower the car and finish-tighten to Torque to 103 Nm (76 ft-lbs).

Step 6: Repeat on the other side (recommended)

• Replace the other front turn signal bulb the same way so brightness and color match.

✅ After Repair

• 🔁 Turn the car ON (READY not required) and test left turn, right turn, and hazards.
• 👀 Walk around the car to confirm both front turn signals blink at a normal speed (fast blinking usually means a bulb isn’t seated or is out).
• 🧩 If it doesn’t work, turn the car OFF and recheck the bulb is fully pushed into the socket and the socket is fully twisted to lock.
