🔧 Front Turn Signal Bulb - Replacement
The front turn signal bulb on your Sienna is accessed from behind the front wheel opening and headlamp area. You’ll remove a small splash shield section, twist out the bulb socket, and swap in the new bulb.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.5-1 hour
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- Turn the lights off and let the bulb cool before touching it.
- Use a jack and jack stands if you need extra wheelhouse access. Never rely on the jack alone.
- Do not touch the glass of the new bulb with bare fingers if it is a halogen bulb. Skin oils can shorten bulb life.
- If you are working near the wheel, keep hands clear of sharp splash shield edges.

You'll need the following tools for this repair:
- Phillips screwdriver
- 10mm socket

📋 Before You Begin

- If one bulb is out, it’s smart to replace both front turn signal bulbs at the same time.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Access the front of the wheel opening
- Turn the front wheels away from the side you are replacing to create more room.
- If needed, use the floor jack and jack stands for better access.
- More room makes the job easier.
Step 2: Remove the splash shield fasteners
- Use the 10mm socket and ratchet to remove the fasteners holding the small front wheelhouse splash shield section.
- If your Sienna uses clip-style retainers in that area, use the trim clip removal tool to release them.
- Pull the shield back enough to reach the back of the turn signal bulb socket.
Step 3: Remove the bulb socket
- Locate the turn signal bulb socket at the back of the headlamp assembly.
- Twist the socket counterclockwise by hand and pull it straight out.
- Do not force it.
Step 4: Replace the bulb
- Remove the old bulb from the socket by pulling it straight out.
- Install the new front turn signal bulb into the socket.
- If the bulb is glass halogen, handle it with gloves.
Step 5: Reinstall the socket
- Insert the socket back into the headlamp housing.
- Twist it clockwise until it locks in place.
- Make sure it is seated fully so moisture cannot get in.
Step 6: Reinstall the splash shield
- Put the splash shield back in position.
- Reinstall the fasteners using the 10mm socket and ratchet, or snap the clips back in with the trim clip removal tool if needed.
- Check for any loose clips.
Step 7: Test the turn signal
- Turn the ignition on and activate the front turn signal.
- Check for proper flashing and confirm the bulb is working.
✅ After Repair
- Walk around the Sienna and confirm both front turn signals flash normally.
- If the new bulb does not work, recheck that the socket is fully locked in.
- If the turn signal flashes fast, the bulb may not be seated correctly or the wrong bulb type may be installed.
