📋 Before You Begin
- Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
- Turn the headlights and ignition off.
- If the lamp area is tight, turn the front wheels away from the side you are servicing for better access.
- Let the lamps cool first.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open up access to the bulb area
- Open the hood.
- If needed, use the 7mm socket and 1/4-inch ratchet to remove any upper air duct or small plastic retainers that block access near the headlamp.
- If the wheel opening gives better access, use the flathead screwdriver or trim clip removal tool to gently move any splash shield fasteners out of the way.
Step 2: Remove the bulb socket
- Reach behind the headlamp assembly and locate the turn signal bulb socket.
- Twist the socket counterclockwise with your hand and pull it straight out.
- Do not force the socket.
Step 3: Replace the bulb
- Remove the old bulb from the socket.
- Install the new front turn signal bulb into the socket.
- Make sure the bulb is fully seated and straight.
Step 4: Reinstall the socket
- Insert the socket back into the headlamp housing.
- Twist it clockwise until it locks in place.
- If you removed any trim or ducting, reinstall it now with the 7mm socket and 1/4-inch ratchet.
Step 5: Test the new bulb
- Turn the ignition on.
- Activate the left and right turn signals one at a time.
- Confirm both front signals flash normally.
- If one does not work, remove the socket and check bulb seating again.
✅ After Repair
- Check that the turn signal indicator on the dash flashes at a normal rate.
- Verify the turn signal lens is secure and the area is sealed.
- If you removed any clips or covers, make sure they are fully reinstalled.
