ā ļø Safety & Precautions
- ā ļø Turn ignition OFF and lights OFF before starting.
- ā ļø Let the headlamp area cool; bulbs can be hot.

š Before You Begin
- Park on level ground, set the parking brake, and remove the key.
- Turn the steering wheel fully away from the side youāre working on (gives more room at the fender liner).
- If lifting the car: place wheel chocks at the rear wheels, lift with a floor jack, and support with jack stands.
- Trim clip removal tool = a forked pry tool that pops plastic clips out without breaking them.
šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Choose an access method
- Method A (common): Access through the front fender liner.
- Method B: Loosen/remove the headlamp assembly for more room.
- Use a flashlight to locate the turn-signal bulb socket behind the headlamp (youāll see a twist-lock socket with wiring).
Step 2 (Method A): Open the fender liner access
- Turn the steering wheel to create space at the wheel well.
- If needed for room, lift and support the front corner using floor jack (rated 2-ton minimum) and jack stands (rated 2-ton minimum).
- Remove the small splash shield/fender liner fasteners near the front of the wheel well using an 8mm socket with 1/4" ratchet and 6" extension.
- Pop plastic push-clips out using the trim clip removal tool.
- Gently pull the liner back just enough to fit your hand and see the back of the headlamp.
Step 3 (Method B): Loosen/remove the headlamp assembly (if needed)
- Open the hood.
- Remove the headlamp upper mounting bolts using a 10mm socket and 1/4" ratchet.
- Carefully slide the headlamp forward. Do not yank the wiring.
- If you disconnect an electrical plug, press the lock tab and pull straight off (donāt pull on wires).
- When reinstalling the headlamp bolts: Torque to 62 in-lb (7 Nm).
Step 4: Remove the turn signal bulb socket
- Locate the turn signal socket at the back of the headlamp.
- Twist the socket counterclockwise about 1/4 turn by hand (use nitrile gloves for grip) and pull it straight out.
Step 5: Replace the bulb
- Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket (no twisting on most wedge-style bulbs).
- Install the new bulb by pushing it straight into the socket until fully seated.
- If you accidentally touch the bulb glass, wipe it with a clean dry cloth (oil can create hot spots).
Step 6: Reinstall the socket and reassemble
- Insert the socket back into the headlamp, then twist clockwise to lock.
- Reposition the fender liner and reinstall fasteners using an 8mm socket and Phillips screwdriver #2 (as equipped).
- Snug small liner fasteners by hand; donāt overtighten into plastic.
- If you lifted the car, lower it safely from the jack stands.
Step 7: Repeat on the other side
- Repeat the same method for the opposite front turn signal bulb.
- Doing both sides helps color match.
ā After Repair
- Turn the ignition ON and test left and right turn signals.
- Confirm the blink speed is normal (a very fast blink usually means a bulb isnāt working or isnāt seated).
- Turn on parking lights and confirm no warning lights/messages are present.
- Check that the fender liner is secured and not rubbing the tire.
