- ⚠️ Let the headlamp area cool if the lights were recently on.

📋 Before You Begin
- 🅿️ Park your Tucson on level ground and set the parking brake.
- 💡 Turn the headlamp switch and hazard switch off.
- 🧤 Put on nitrile gloves to keep oil off the new bulb glass.
- 🔦 Open the hood and use a flashlight to locate the rear of the front headlamp assembly.
- 📝 Replace front turn signal bulbs in pairs if one has failed, because the other is usually close behind.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the Hood
- Use your hand to pull the hood release inside the cabin.
- Use your hand to release the secondary hood latch at the front of the hood.
- Raise the hood and secure it with the hood prop rod.
- Use a flashlight to look behind the headlamp assembly on the side you are replacing.
Step 2: Identify the Front Turn Signal Socket
- Use a flashlight to find the turn signal bulb socket at the rear outer area of the headlamp assembly.
- The socket is the plastic holder that twists into the headlamp housing and carries the bulb wiring.
- Do not pull on the wires. Grip the plastic socket body only.
- Tip: Match the new bulb shape first.
Step 3: Create Extra Access if Needed
- If your hand fits behind the headlamp, skip to Step 4.
- If access is tight, use a 10mm socket, 1/4-inch ratchet, and 6-inch extension to remove the upper headlamp retaining bolts.
- Gently shift the headlamp assembly forward just enough to reach the bulb socket.
- Do not force the headlamp or stretch the wiring harness.
Step 4: Remove the Bulb Socket
- Use your gloved hand to grasp the front turn signal socket.
- Turn the socket counterclockwise about a quarter turn.
- Pull the socket straight out of the headlamp assembly.
- If it feels stuck, gently wiggle the socket while turning it by hand.
Step 5: Remove the Old Bulb
- Use your gloved hand to press the old bulb slightly inward.
- Turn the bulb counterclockwise and pull it out of the socket.
- A bayonet-style bulb has small side pins that lock into slots; press-and-turn releases it.
- Inspect the socket for melted plastic, green corrosion, or loose contacts.
Step 6: Install the New Bulb
- Use nitrile gloves or a clean microfiber cloth to handle the new front turn signal bulb, amber 2357A/2357NA.
- Line up the bulb side pins with the slots in the socket.
- Press the bulb inward and turn it clockwise until it locks.
- If the bulb glass was touched, wipe it clean with a microfiber cloth before installing the socket.
Step 7: Reinstall the Socket
- Use your gloved hand to insert the bulb and socket straight into the headlamp assembly.
- Turn the socket clockwise until it locks firmly.
- Make sure the socket sits flat against the headlamp housing so moisture cannot enter.
Step 8: Reinstall the Headlamp Bolts if Removed
- If you loosened or removed the headlamp bolts, align the headlamp assembly by hand.
- Use a 10mm socket, 1/4-inch ratchet, and 6-inch extension to reinstall the bolts.
- Tighten the bolts snugly; do not overtighten plastic mounting tabs.
- Torque to 8-10 Nm (71-89 in-lbs)
Step 9: Repeat on the Other Side
- Use the same steps to replace the opposite front turn signal bulb.
- Replace in pairs for even brightness and better reliability.
✅ After Repair
- ✅ Turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine.
- ✅ Switch on the left and right turn signals and verify both front bulbs flash normally.
- ✅ Press the hazard switch and confirm both front turn signal bulbs flash.
- ✅ If a bulb flashes fast, recheck the bulb fitment and socket connection.
- ✅ Close the hood securely after testing.
