🔧 Front Turn Signal Bulbs - Replacement
The front turn signal bulbs are serviceable from the rear of each headlamp assembly. You’ll remove the rear access cap, twist the bulb socket out, and install the new bulb without touching the glass. Replace both sides at the same time so the front signals stay matched.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.5-1 hour
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- Turn the lights off and let the headlamp housings cool before starting.
- Do not touch the glass on a halogen bulb; oil from your fingers can shorten bulb life.
- Use care around the headlamp connectors and plastic tabs so they do not crack.
- Battery disconnect is not required for this job.

📋 Before You Begin
- Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
- Turn the headlight switch off and remove the key or keep the smart key away from the vehicle.
- Open the hood and support it securely.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open access to the back of the headlamp
- Open the hood and locate the rear of the headlamp assembly.
- Use your hand first. If space is tight, use a trim panel tool to move any nearby plastic clips or covers gently.
- If the washer bottle or intake duct blocks access on your side, use a 10mm socket and ratchet to remove only the fasteners needed for extra room.
- Work slowly around the plastic tabs.
Step 2: Remove the bulb socket
- Find the rear access cap for the front turn signal bulb on the headlamp housing.
- Twist the cap or socket counterclockwise by hand to unlock it.
- Pull the bulb socket straight out of the headlamp.
Step 3: Replace the bulb
- Wear nitrile gloves and remove the old bulb from the socket.
- Install the new bulb into the socket fully and make sure it seats straight.
- Do not force the bulb. If it does not fit easily, stop and realign it.
- Keep the bulb clean and dry.
Step 4: Reinstall the socket
- Insert the bulb socket back into the headlamp housing.
- Twist it clockwise by hand until it locks into place.
- Reinstall any covers, clips, or fasteners you removed.
Step 5: Test the new bulb
- Turn the ignition on and activate the turn signal on the repaired side.
- Check that the front signal flashes normally.
- Repeat the same steps on the other side if replacing both bulbs.
✅ After Repair
- Verify both front turn signals flash at the same speed.
- Check the bulb stays on securely after a short drive.
- If one side does not work, recheck socket seating and bulb orientation.
