Step 1: Create access at the wheel well
- Turn the wheel to give yourself space behind the front bumper on the side youāre servicing.
- If needed, lift and support that front corner using a floor jack and jack stands.
- Use a trim clip removal tool to pop out the plastic push-clips holding the front section of the fender liner (splash shield).
- If your liner uses screws/bolts, remove them using a Phillips screwdriver and/or 10mm socket with a ratchet and 6" extension.
- Pull the liner back just enough to get your hand to the back of the headlight.
Step 2: Remove the turn signal bulb socket
- With a flashlight, find the turn signal socket on the back side of the headlight assembly (the socket with two wires going to it).
- Grip the socket and rotate it about 1/4 turn to unlock it, then pull it straight out.
- If itās stuck, wear nitrile gloves and wiggle gentlyādonāt force the wiring.
Step 3: Replace the bulb
- Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket (itās a push-in style).
- Install the new bulb by pushing it straight into the socket until fully seated.
- Tip: Hold the bulb by the base.
Step 4: Reinstall the socket and test
- Insert the socket back into the headlight housing and rotate it 1/4 turn to lock.
- Turn the ignition to ON and test the front turn signal and hazards.
- If it doesnāt light, turn ignition OFF, remove the socket, and reseat the bulb.
Step 5: Reinstall the fender liner
- Reposition the liner and reinstall the clips using a trim clip removal tool.
- Reinstall any screws/bolts using a Phillips screwdriver and/or 10mm socket with a ratchet.
- If you removed the wheel at any point, reinstall and tighten lug nuts in a star pattern: Torque to 108 Nm (80 ft-lbs) using a torque wrench.
ā After Repair
- Verify left and right turn signals work and flash at a normal speed.
- Verify hazard lights work.
- If the signal flashes fast, a bulb may be wrong type, not seated, or another turn bulb is out.
