- Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
- Turn the headlight switch to OFF.
- Open the hood and use a flashlight to see behind the headlamp housings.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Locate the turn signal bulb socket
- Put on safety glasses and nitrile gloves.
- From under the hood, look behind the headlamp housing on the side you’re replacing (use a flashlight).
- Find the turn signal/park light socket (a round plastic “twist-lock” socket). Twist-lock means it locks by turning.
Step 2: Remove the bulb socket
- Grip the socket and rotate it about a quarter-turn counterclockwise by hand.
- Pull the socket straight out of the headlamp housing.
Step 3: Replace the bulb
- Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket by hand.
- Install the new amber 3157A bulb by pushing it straight into the socket until fully seated.
- If you accidentally touch the bulb glass, wipe it clean and dry before installing.
Step 4: Reinstall the socket
- Line up the socket tabs with the housing slots.
- Push the socket in and rotate it clockwise about a quarter-turn until it locks.
Step 5: Repeat on the other side
- Use the flashlight and repeat Steps 1–4 for the other front turn signal.

- Turn the ignition to ON and test left and right turn signals.
- Turn on parking lights and verify both front bulbs light evenly.
- If a signal flashes fast, re-check that the bulb is fully seated and the socket is locked in place.
