• Park on level ground, set the parking brake, and turn the ignition fully off.
• Open the hood and secure it with the prop rod.
• Put on nitrile gloves (thin protective gloves) to keep skin oil off the bulb.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Locate the front turn signal bulb socket

• Use a flashlight to look behind the headlight assembly on the side you’re replacing.
• Find the turn signal socket (usually an easy-to-grab twist socket on the back of the headlight).
• Turn signals are typically amber bulbs.

Step 2: Remove the socket from the headlight

• Grip the socket firmly by hand and rotate it counterclockwise about 1/4 turn, then pull it straight out.
• If it’s tight, gently help it start moving with a small flat-blade screwdriver (light pressure only).

Step 3: Remove the old bulb from the socket

• Pull the bulb straight out of the socket by hand.
• If it’s stuck, use a clean shop towel to get better grip and pull straight (do not twist unless your bulb style requires it).

Step 4: Install the new bulb

• With nitrile gloves on, push the new bulb straight into the socket until fully seated.
• If you accidentally touch the glass, wipe it with a clean shop towel before installing.

Step 5: Reinstall the socket

• Insert the socket back into the headlight housing.
• Rotate clockwise about 1/4 turn until it locks in place.
• Make sure it sits flush and doesn’t wobble.

Step 6: Repeat on the other side

• Use the same steps for the opposite headlight.
• Replace in pairs for matching brightness/color.

• Turn the ignition to ON and test left and right turn signals.
• Turn on hazard lights and walk around the car to confirm both front signals flash evenly.
• If a bulb flashes fast, re-seat the bulb and socket (fast flash usually means a bulb isn’t working).
