šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open access behind the headlamp
- Put on safety glasses and nitrile gloves.
- Use a flashlight to look behind the headlamp housing and find the turn signal bulb socket (itās a round socket that twists out).
Step 2: Create working room (only if needed)
- If your hand doesnāt fit, remove nearby plastic covers/ducting:
- Use a flat trim clip tool or flathead screwdriver to pop up plastic push-clips.
- If there are 10mm bolts holding a small bracket/duct, remove them with a 10mm socket, 1/4" ratchet, and 6" extension.
- Set clips/bolts in a cup.
Step 3: Remove the turn signal bulb socket
- Grip the socket firmly by hand.
- Twist the socket counterclockwise about 1/4 turn and pull it straight out.
Step 4: Remove the old bulb
- Pull the bulb straight out of the socket (most are a push-in style).
- If itās stubborn, gently wiggle while pullingādonāt pry hard on the socket.
Step 5: Install the new bulb
- With nitrile gloves on, push the new bulb into the socket until fully seated.
- If you accidentally touch the glass, wipe it with a clean dry cloth before installing.
Step 6: Test before reassembly
- Temporarily hold the socket safely away from moving parts.
- Turn the ignition to ON and switch on the turn signal (or hazards) to verify it flashes normally.
- Turn ignition OFF again before final installation.
Step 7: Reinstall the socket and any removed parts
- Insert the socket into the headlamp housing, then twist clockwise until it locks.
- Reinstall any ducting/covers you removed.
- Reinstall bolts using a 10mm socket and 1/4" ratchet until snug (no published torque needed for these small plastic-area fastenersādo not overtighten).
- Reinstall push-clips by pressing the body in, then pressing the center pin down flush (use the flat trim clip tool if needed).
Step 8: Repeat on the other side
- Replace the other front turn signal bulb the same way. Replacing in pairs keeps brightness even.
ā After Repair
- š Turn on hazards and confirm both front turn signals flash at a normal speed.
- š” Verify the front parking/marker light function (if your bulb is a dual-filament type).
- š If it āhyper-flashesā (very fast), re-check that the bulb is fully seated and the correct type.
