🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Remove the front wheel

- If the joint is bolted or riveted on, use the correct 18mm socket or Torx T30 screwdriver for the fasteners, then remove the joint.
- Clean the mounting area before installing the new part.
Step 5: Install the new ball joint
- Use the ball joint press kit to press the new joint in straight, if applicable.
- If bolted in, install the new joint with the supplied hardware and tighten evenly.
- Torque to manufacturer specification for the joint fasteners and stud nut.
Step 6: Reconnect the steering knuckle
- Align the ball joint stud with the knuckle and install the nut by hand first.
- Use a torque wrench and the correct socket to tighten the stud nut.
- Install a new cotter pin if the design uses one.
- Torque to manufacturer specification for the lower ball joint nut.
Step 7: Reassemble the front suspension area
- Reinstall any brackets or splash shields using the 17mm socket or correct fastener tool.
- Make sure the brake hose and ABS wire are routed correctly and not twisted.
Step 8: Reinstall the wheel
- Put the wheel back on and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
- Lower the vehicle and use a torque wrench with a 21mm socket to tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern.
