How to Replace Engine Mounts on a 2018 Nissan Titan 5.6L V8 (DIY Guide)
Step-by-step instructions with required tools, parts list, safety tips, and torque spec guidance

🔧 Titan - Engine Mount Replacement
On your Titan, the engine mounts hold the 5.6L engine in the correct position and isolate vibration. Replacing them is very doable, but the engine must be safely supported while each mount is removed and installed.
Difficulty Level: Advanced | Estimated Time: 3-6 hours
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- ⚠️ Never get under the truck supported only by a jack; use jack stands.
- ⚠️ The engine must be supported before loosening mount nuts/bolts; use a jack with a wood block to spread the load.
- ⚠️ Keep hands clear of pinch points between the engine and frame brackets.
- ⚠️ Let the exhaust cool fully; mounts sit near hot components.
- ⚠️ Battery disconnect is recommended before working near the starter/positive cables on the passenger side: remove the 10mm negative terminal first.

📋 Before You Begin
- Park on level ground, set the parking brake, and chock the rear wheels.
- Raise the front and support the frame with jack stands.
- Spray mount nuts/bolts with penetrating oil and let it soak 10-15 minutes.
- Two quick questions so I give you the exact OEM-correct steps and torque specs:
- Are you replacing the left (driver), right (passenger), or both mounts?
- Does your Titan have factory skid plates under the engine/front differential (yes/no)?
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Make the truck safe to work under
- Use wheel chocks behind the rear tires.
- Lift the front with a floor jack (rated 3-ton minimum) at the front jacking point.
- Set the frame onto jack stands (rated 3-ton minimum) and gently shake the truck to confirm it’s stable.
Step 2: Disconnect battery (recommended)
- Use a 10mm socket to remove the negative battery terminal and tuck it aside so it can’t spring back.
Step 3: Confirm access items (skid plates/splash shields)
- Use a trim clip tool and socket set (10mm-22mm) to remove any lower splash shields/skid plates that block access.
- Keep bolts sorted by location.
Step 4: STOP here so I can give the exact mount-specific steps + torque specs
- Reply with: Left / Right / Both and Skid plates: Yes/No.
- Once you confirm, I’ll lay out the exact removal/installation order, what has to be loosened for clearance, and all factory torque specs for your Titan.
✅ After Repair
- Reconnect the battery negative terminal using a 10mm socket.
- Start the engine and check for abnormal vibration, clunks, or the engine sitting “twisted” in the bay.
- With the hood open and foot on the brake, shift from Park to Reverse to Drive and watch for excessive engine movement.
- Test drive and recheck for any loosened shields/skid plate hardware.
