🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Access the rear lamp fasteners

• Open the trunk.
• Use a trim panel tool to carefully pull back the side trunk trim near the taillight you are servicing.
• If equipped with a small access cover, remove it by hand or with the trim panel tool.

Step 2: Remove the taillight housing

• Use a 10mm socket, 1/4-inch ratchet, and short extension to remove the taillight mounting nuts.
• Pull the lamp straight rearward to release the locating pins.
• Pull evenly to avoid cracking the lens.

Step 3: Replace the bulb

• Twist the bulb socket counterclockwise by hand and remove it from the lamp housing.
• Remove the bulb from the socket.
• Install the new bulb into the socket.
• Reinstall the socket and twist it clockwise until locked.

Step 4: Reinstall the lamp assembly

• Align the locating pins with the body openings.
• Push the lamp straight into place.
• Use the 10mm socket, 1/4-inch ratchet, and short extension to reinstall the mounting nuts.
• Torque to 5 N·m (44 in-lbs).
• Reinstall the trunk trim and access cover.

Step 5: Test the lights

• Turn on the parking lights, brake lights, and turn signals.
• Verify both sides work correctly.
• Check that the lamp sits flush with the body.
