🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the tailgate
- Lower the tailgate so you can reach the tail lamp mounting screws.
Step 2: Remove the tail lamp fasteners
- Use an 8mm socket, ratchet, and short extension to remove the two tail lamp bolts.
- Set the bolts aside safely.
Step 3: Pull the tail lamp housing straight back
- Gently wiggle the lamp housing and pull it straight rearward.
- Do not pry hard on the lens.
Step 4: Release the bulb socket
- Twist the bulb socket counterclockwise and remove it from the housing.
- If needed, use a trim panel tool lightly for a little extra help, but do not force it.
Step 5: Replace the bulb
- Remove the old bulb from the socket.
- Install the new bulb fully into the socket.
- If the bulb is a halogen style, use gloves and keep the glass clean.
Step 6: Reinstall the socket and lamp
- Twist the socket back into the housing until it locks.
- Align the lamp housing with the body and push it into place.
- Reinstall the two 8mm bolts and snug them down.
- Torque to 3-5 Nm (27-44 in-lbs).
Step 7: Repeat on the other side
- Perform the same steps on the second taillight.

- Check that the lamps sit flush with the body.
