📋 Before You Begin

• Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
• Put the transmission in Park.
• Open the tailgate for easier access to the lamp fasteners.
• If one lamp is LED, it will not have a removable bulb.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the tailgate and access the lamp fasteners

• Open the tailgate fully.
• Use a 10mm socket with a ratchet and short extension to remove the two lamp retaining fasteners on each side.
• Set the fasteners aside in a safe place.

Step 2: Remove the taillight assembly

• Grip the lamp assembly firmly with both hands.
• Pull the assembly straight rearward to release the alignment pins.
• If it sticks, use a trim panel tool gently from the edge to help it pop free.
• Pull straight back, not sideways.

Step 3: Remove the bulb sockets

• Twist each bulb socket counterclockwise by hand to unlock it from the housing.
• Pull the socket straight out.
• If your lamp has a sealed LED unit, stop here because the bulb cannot be replaced separately.

Step 4: Replace the bulbs

• Remove the old bulbs from the sockets by pulling them straight out or twisting, depending on the socket style.
• Install the new taillight bulbs into the sockets.
• Do not touch the glass on halogen bulbs.

Step 5: Reinstall the sockets and lamp

• Insert each socket into the housing and twist clockwise until locked.
• Align the lamp assembly with the body openings.
• Push the lamp straight in until fully seated.
• Reinstall the retaining fasteners with a 10mm socket.
• Tighten snugly by hand. Do not overtighten the plastic housing.

Step 6: Test the lights

• Turn on the parking lights, brake lights, and turn signals.
• Check both sides for proper operation.
• Make sure the lamp sits flush and the seal is even all around.
