Step 2: Pull the taillight housing off the body

Step 3: Remove the bulb socket(s)
- Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise about 1/4 turn to unlock it.
- Pull the socket straight out of the taillight housing.
- If your Tucson has multiple sockets, remove the one for the bulb youāre replacing.
Step 4: Replace the bulb
- Remove the bulb from the socket:
- If itās a push-in type, pull it straight out.
- If itās a twist-lock type, rotate it and lift it out.
- Install the new bulb fully into the socket.
- If you have it, apply a tiny amount of dielectric grease to the socket seal (not the bulb glass).
Step 5: Reinstall the socket and test
- Reinsert the socket into the housing and turn clockwise to lock.
- Before reinstalling the housing, turn the lights on and test the function:
- Tail/running lights

- Turn signal / hazards
- Reverse lights (key on, foot on brake, shift to R)
Step 6: Reinstall the taillight housing

Step 8: If your bulb is on the liftgate (inner lamp)
- If the burned-out bulb is in the liftgate-mounted lamp, tell me which function is out and Iāll give you the exact liftgate lamp removal steps for your Tucson.
ā After Repair
- Verify all rear lighting functions again: tail, brake, turn, hazards, reverse.
- Check that both taillight housings sit flush and donāt wiggle.
