🔧 Taillight Bulbs - Bulb Replacement
This job replaces the rear taillight bulbs on both sides of your GTI. On this car, the bulbs are accessed from inside the rear hatch area and/or rear lamp carrier, depending on which rear bulb you are changing. Assumption: factory bulb-style rear lamps, not full LED units.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.5-1 hour
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- Turn the lighting switch off before starting.
- Let the bulbs cool completely before touching them.
- Do not touch the glass of a new halogen bulb with bare fingers; skin oil can shorten bulb life.
- If a bulb is stuck, do not force the socket or lamp housing.
- No battery disconnect is required for this repair.
