How to Replace Both Headlight Bulbs on a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta
Step-by-step instructions with tools, parts, safety tips, and testing advice
🔧 Headlight Bulbs - Replacement
This job replaces both front headlight bulbs on your Jetta. On this model, the bulbs are accessed from behind the headlamp housings, so the work is mostly careful hand access and connector removal.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.5-1 hour
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- Turn the headlight switch off and remove the key/fob before starting.
- Headlight bulbs get very hot. Let them cool before touching them.
- Do not touch the glass on halogen bulbs with bare fingers. Oil from skin can shorten bulb life.
- If your Jetta has HID or LED headlamps, do not attempt bulb replacement this way. This procedure assumes halogen bulbs.
- Battery disconnect is not required for this repair.
