📋 Before You Begin

• 🅿️ Park your Tucson on level ground and set the parking brake.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the Hood

• Use your hand to pull the interior hood release lever.
• Use your fingers to release the safety latch at the front of the hood.
• Lift the hood and secure it with the hood prop rod.
• Use a flashlight to look behind each headlight housing.

Step 2: Find the Low-Beam Bulb Cover

• Use a flashlight to locate the round dust cover on the back of the headlight housing.
• The low-beam bulb is behind this rear cover.
• A dust cover is a round plastic cap that keeps water and dirt out of the headlight housing.
• Work on one side at a time.

Step 3: Remove the Rear Dust Cover

• Use your hand to rotate the dust cover counterclockwise.
• Pull the dust cover straight off and place it on a clean microfiber towel.
• No torque spec is used here because the cover is hand-tightened only.

Step 4: Disconnect the Bulb Electrical Connector

• Use your fingers to grip the electrical connector at the rear of the bulb.
• Pull the connector straight back off the bulb.
• Do not pull on the wires themselves.
• An electrical connector is the plastic plug that supplies power to the bulb.

Step 5: Release the Bulb Retainer

• Use your fingers to press the metal spring clip inward and move it away from the bulb.
• The spring clip is the small wire retainer that holds the bulb tightly in place.
• Swing the clip open carefully so the bulb can come out.
• Take a photo before removal.

Step 6: Remove the Old Bulb

• Use your gloved hand to pull the old H7 bulb straight out of the headlight housing.
• Notice the position of the bulb tab before removing it fully.
• Do not force the bulb. It should slide out once the clip is released.

Step 7: Install the New Bulb

• Use nitrile gloves to handle the new H7 bulb by the metal base only.
• Place the new bulb into the headlight housing in the same orientation as the old bulb.
• Make sure the bulb sits flat and fully seated.
• If you accidentally touch the glass, use a clean microfiber towel to wipe it gently before installing.

Step 8: Secure the Bulb Retainer

• Use your fingers to swing the metal spring clip back over the bulb base.
• Press the clip inward and lock it into its catch.
• The bulb should not wiggle once the clip is locked.

Step 9: Reconnect the Electrical Connector

• Use your hand to push the electrical connector straight onto the bulb terminals.
• Push until it is fully seated and snug.
• Do not bend the bulb terminals.

Step 10: Reinstall the Rear Dust Cover

• Use your hand to position the dust cover on the rear of the headlight housing.
• Turn the cover clockwise until it locks in place.
• Do not cross-thread or leave the cover loose, because moisture can enter the housing.
• Hand-tight only; no torque spec is used.

Step 11: Repeat on the Other Side

• Use the same steps and flashlight on the opposite headlight.
• Remove the dust cover, unplug the connector, release the spring clip, replace the bulb, reconnect it, and reinstall the cover.
• Replace both bulbs in pairs for even brightness.

Step 12: Test the Headlights

• Use your hand to turn the headlight switch to ON.
• Check both low beams from the front of your Tucson.
• Switch to high beams briefly to confirm the correct bulbs were replaced and the lighting operates normally.
