📋 Before You Begin
- Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
- Turn the headlights off.
- Open the hood and make sure you have both replacement bulbs ready before you start.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the hood and access the back of the headlamp
- Use the hood release inside the cabin, then secure the hood.
- Stand at the front of the Rogue and locate the rear of each headlamp assembly.
- Work one side at a time.
Step 2: Remove any access covers or intake ducting in the way
- If the driver or passenger side has a plastic cover blocking access, remove it by hand or use a trim clip removal tool.
- If an air duct or small plastic retainer is in the way, remove the fastener with a 10mm socket and ratchet if needed.
- Keep the hardware in a safe place.
Step 3: Unplug the old bulb
- Reach behind the headlamp and locate the bulb connector.
- Press the tab on the connector and pull it straight off the bulb.
- If the connector is tight, gently wiggle it while pulling. Do not yank on the wires.
Step 4: Remove the old bulb
- Use a small flat-blade screwdriver only if a retaining tab or cover needs to be released.
- Turn the bulb counterclockwise if it uses a twist-lock base, then pull it straight out.
- Do not force it. The bulb should come out with light pressure.
Step 5: Install the new bulb
- Put on mechanic gloves or hold the bulb by the base.
- Insert the new bulb into the socket in the same orientation as the old one.
- Turn it clockwise until it locks in place, if equipped with a twist-lock base.
- Reconnect the electrical connector until it clicks.
Step 6: Repeat on the other side
- Use the same process for the second bulb.
- Replace both bulbs together so the light color and brightness stay even.
Step 7: Reinstall covers and test the lights
- Reinstall any access covers, ducting, or fasteners you removed.
- Close the hood.
- Turn on the low beams and check both sides.
- Turn on the high beams and verify proper operation if you replaced those bulbs.

- Make sure no warning lights are on in the dash.
- If one side does not work, recheck the connector and bulb seating.
