🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Remove the upper bumper fasteners
- Use a 10mm socket and Phillips screwdriver to remove the fasteners along the top edge of the front bumper cover.
- Remove any push clips with the trim panel removal tool.
Step 2: Remove the wheel well fasteners
- Turn the steering wheel for access, then use the Phillips screwdriver or 10mm socket to remove the liner screws at each front wheel opening.
- Use the trim panel removal tool to release the liner edges from the bumper cover.
Step 3: Release the lower bumper fasteners
- Use the 10mm socket to remove the lower fasteners and clips beneath the bumper cover.
- Support the bumper cover with one hand while removing the last fasteners.
Step 4: Remove the front bumper cover
- Gently pull the bumper cover outward at the corners to release the side clips.
- Disconnect any fog light or sensor connectors if equipped.
- Set the bumper cover on a soft surface.
- Do not force the side tabs.
Step 5: Remove the headlamp mounting bolts
- Use a 10mm socket and ratchet to remove the headlamp mounting bolts.
- Keep the bolts organized by side.
- Torque on installation: 7.5 Nm (66 in-lbs)
Step 6: Unplug the headlamp connector
- Press the lock tab on the headlamp connector and unplug it by hand.
- If needed, use a flat-blade screwdriver gently to help release the tab.
Step 7: Remove the headlamp assembly
- Pull the headlamp assembly straight forward and out of the vehicle.
- Do not twist the housing; clear the locating tabs carefully.
Step 8: Install the new headlamp assembly
- Position the new assembly into the opening and align the mounting tabs.
- Reconnect the electrical connector until it clicks.
- Install the mounting bolts by hand first.
- Use the 10mm socket and torque wrench to tighten them evenly.
- Torque to 7.5 Nm (66 in-lbs)
Step 9: Reinstall the bumper cover
- Reconnect any fog light or sensor connectors.
- Set the bumper cover into the side retainers first, then press the top edge into place.
- Reinstall all clips and screws with the 10mm socket, Phillips screwdriver, and trim panel removal tool.
Step 10: Test the lights
- Reconnect the 12V battery negative terminal.
- Turn on the parking lights, low beams, high beams, and turn signals.
- Check aim and verify both sides work correctly.

- Check for warning lights on the dash.
- Make sure the bumper cover sits flush on both sides.
