🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Verify the failure
- Use a multimeter to check for power at the headlamp connector.
- Confirm the left and right sides behave the same.
- Check the simple stuff first.
Step 2: Remove the front upper cover fasteners
- Use a 10mm socket, ratchet, and extension bar to remove the upper fasteners and access pieces as needed.
- Use a trim clip tool to lift plastic clips without breaking them.
Step 3: Disconnect the headlamp connector
- Press the connector lock and unplug the headlamp harness by hand.
- Inspect the connector for heat damage, corrosion, or bent pins.
Step 4: Remove the headlamp assembly
- Use a 10mm socket to remove the headlamp mounting bolts.
- Carefully pull the lamp forward and out of the vehicle.
- Do not force the bumper cover.
Step 5: Install the replacement assembly
- Set the new LED headlamp assembly in place.
- Start all bolts by hand, then tighten with the 10mm socket.
- Torque to 7.5 Nm (66 in-lbs).
Step 6: Reconnect and test
- Reconnect the headlamp connector.
- Turn the car ON and test low beam, high beam, and turn signal functions if equipped in the housing.
