🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Remove the undercover
- Use a 10mm socket or 12mm socket to remove the fasteners holding the lower splash shield.
- Set the shield and fasteners aside in order.
Step 2: Drain the old CVT fluid
- Place a drain pan under the transmission.
- Use a 14mm socket to remove the drain plug.
- Let the fluid drain fully.
- Install a new crush washer on the drain plug.
- Reinstall the drain plug and Torque to factory specification.
Step 3: Fill the transmission
- Locate the fill plug on the transmission case.
- Use a 14mm socket to remove the fill plug.
- Use a fluid transfer pump and funnel to add the correct Nissan CVT fluid.
- Fill to the proper level using the factory check procedure for this CVT.
- Install a new crush washer on the fill plug.
- Reinstall the fill plug and Torque to factory specification.
Step 4: Run the fluid through the transmission
- Start the engine with the vehicle still safely supported.
- With your foot on the brake, move the shifter slowly through each gear position.
- Return the shifter to Park.
- Check for leaks at both plugs.
Step 5: Final fluid level check
- Check the fluid level using the factory CVT temperature and level-check procedure.
- Add fluid in small amounts if needed using the fluid transfer pump.
- Reinstall any level-check plug and Torque to factory specification.
Step 6: Reinstall the undercover
- Use a 10mm socket or 12mm socket to reinstall the splash shield.
- Make sure all clips and bolts are secure.

- Recheck fluid level if you notice any abnormal CVT operation.
