  • Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
  • Make sure the engine is off and cool.
  • Open the hood and secure it fully.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the air filter housing

  • Locate the air filter box in the engine bay.
  • Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the air box cover screws or clamps.
  • If your cover uses clips, use a flat-blade screwdriver to gently release them.
  • Do not force the cover.

Step 2: Remove the old air filter

  • Lift the air box cover carefully.
  • Use your gloves to remove the old filter.
  • Check the housing for leaves, dirt, or debris.
  • If needed, wipe the inside of the box clean with a dry cloth.

Step 3: Install the new air filter

  • Place the new engine air filter into the housing the same way the old one came out.
  • Make sure the filter sits flat all the way around.
  • Seal all edges before closing.

Step 4: Reinstall the air box cover

  • Set the cover back on the housing.
  • Use the Phillips screwdriver to tighten the screws or secure the clamps.
  • Make sure the cover is fully seated and latched.
  • Do not overtighten the screws.
