2014 Honda Crosstour Wiper Blade Replacement Guide: Fix Front & Rear Blades

Do you want DIY instructions to replace the front wiper blades, rear wiper blade, or the wiper motor/linkage?

CrossTour - Front & Rear Wiper Blade Replacement 🧼
I’ll walk you through replacing all three blades on your Crosstour (driver, passenger, and rear). This is a quick, beginner-friendly job.
What you’ll need
- 🧰 Wiper blades: Driver 26", Passenger 17", Rear 15" (hook-style front arms, top-lock rear). Buy quality beam-style blades for best performance.
- 🧰 Small flat screwdriver (to release tabs on the rear blade). Flat screwdriver = straight blade tip.
- 🧼 Glass cleaner and paper towels (clean the windshield and rear glass).
- 🧴 Rubbing alcohol (wipe the new rubber to remove mold release for streak-free wipes).
Safety first
- ⚠️ Protect the glass: Place a towel on the glass. If a bare arm snaps down, it can crack the glass.
- ⚠️ Key off: Turn ignition off before starting.
Front blades — remove
- 🛠️ Lift the driver wiper arm until it locks in the raised position. Lay a towel on the windshield under it.
- 🛠️ Rotate the blade so it’s perpendicular to the arm, exposing the J-hook (curved end of the arm).
- 🛠️ Press the small release tab on the adapter (center of the blade) and slide the blade downward toward the arm’s end to unhook it. If tight, wiggle gently.
- 🛠️ Repeat for the passenger side.
Front blades — install
- âś… Confirm sizes: Driver 26", Passenger 17".
- 🛠️ Slide the new blade’s adapter into the arm’s J-hook from below until it clicks. A firm tug should not pull it off.
- 🛠️ Lower the arm carefully onto the glass. Remove the towel.
Rear blade — remove
- 🛠️ Lift the rear wiper arm away from the glass until it stays up.
- 🛠️ At the center, locate the small locking tab where the blade meets the arm’s top-lock adapter.
- 🛠️ Using a small flat screwdriver, gently pry the tab outward while sliding the blade assembly downward and off the arm stud.
Rear blade — install
- âś… Confirm size: Rear 15".
- 🛠️ Align the new blade’s opening with the arm’s top-lock post and slide it upward until it clicks. Tug to confirm it’s locked.
- 🛠️ Lower the arm gently to the glass.
Setup and test
- 🧽 Clean the windshield and rear glass. Wipe the new rubber with a little rubbing alcohol.
- 🔧 Turn ignition on. Spray washer and run wipers. Check for streaks or chatter. If seen, clean again or reseat the blade.
Tips & tricks
- 💡 If the adapter doesn’t click, it’s likely the wrong insert—most replacement blades ship with multiple adapters. Match the J-hook for the front and top-lock for the rear.
- 💡 Replace blades in pairs (both fronts) for even wiping. You’re already doing all three—perfect.
- đź’ˇ If you hear skipping, clean the glass with a clay bar or glass polish to remove film.
