🔧 Wrangler - Front Turn Signal Bulb Replacement
Your Wrangler’s front turn signal bulbs sit in the front fender flare lamp housings (the amber lenses at the front corners). Replacing the bulbs restores proper signaling and helps you stay road-legal and safe.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.3-0.7 hours
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- ⚠️ Turn the lights off and remove the key before starting.
- ⚠️ Let bulbs cool before touching; they can be hot.
- ⚠️ Wear safety glasses; plastic tabs can snap and pop loose.
- ⚠️ Do not touch the glass of a new bulb with bare fingers; skin oils can shorten bulb life.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Remove the front turn signal lamp housing
- Go to the front corner of the fender flare where the amber lens is.
- Use a trim removal tool to gently pry at the rear edge of the lamp housing.
- Pull the lamp housing straight out to release the retaining clips.
- Work slowly to avoid breaking the tabs.
Step 2: Remove the bulb socket
- With the housing loose, locate the bulb socket on the back of the lamp.
- Twist the socket counterclockwise using your hand (or help it gently with a small flat-blade screwdriver if it’s tight).
- Pull the socket straight out of the lamp housing.
Step 3: Replace the bulb
- Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket while wearing nitrile gloves.
- Push the new 3157A/3157NA amber bulb straight into the socket until fully seated.
- Apply a tiny amount of dielectric grease to the socket seal if available (this helps keep moisture out).
Step 4: Reinstall the socket and housing
- Insert the socket back into the lamp housing.
- Twist clockwise by hand until it locks in place.
- Line up the housing tabs with the fender flare and push firmly until the clips snap back in.
Step 5: Repeat on the other side
- Repeat Steps 1–4 on the other front corner.
- Replace bulbs in pairs for even brightness.
✅ After Repair
- Turn the key to ON and test the left and right turn signals.
- Turn on the hazards and confirm both front signals blink evenly.
- If a bulb blinks fast, remove it and confirm it’s fully seated and the socket is locked.
