🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Confirm the mirror type (manual vs power)

• Look at the inside front corner of the door: if you see a wiring harness going toward the mirror, you have a powered mirror.
• If there’s no wiring and the mirror adjusts by hand, it’s a manual mirror.

Step 2: Remove the interior mirror “sail panel”

• Use a trim removal tool (plastic) to gently pry off the small triangular interior trim panel at the top-front of the door.
• Work around the edges and pull it straight off once the clips release. Pry slowly to avoid breaking clips.

Step 3: Disconnect the mirror wiring (if equipped)

• If you have a connector behind that trim, unplug it by pressing the lock tab and pulling apart by hand.
• Use a shop towel to protect trim while you work around the connector.

Step 4: Remove the mirror mounting nuts

• Hold the mirror on the outside with one hand.
• Use a 10mm socket, 1/4" drive ratchet, and 3" socket extension to remove the three nuts.
• Set the nuts aside if you’re reusing them.

Step 5: Remove the old mirror

• From the outside, lift the mirror straight off the studs.
• If it feels stuck, gently wiggle it—don’t pry on painted surfaces.

Step 6: Install the new mirror

• Make sure the mirror mounting gasket is in place and not folded.
• Guide the mirror studs through the door holes and hold the mirror flush against the door.
• Hand-start all three nuts to avoid cross-threading.

Step 7: Tighten and torque the mirror nuts

• Use a 10mm socket and 1/4" drive ratchet to snug the three nuts evenly.
• Use a torque wrench (in-lb or low-range Nm) to finish tightening: Torque to 9 Nm (80 in-lb).
• Do not overtighten—too much torque can crack the mirror base or distort the gasket.

Step 8: Reconnect wiring and reinstall the sail panel

• If equipped, plug the connector back in until it clicks (push by hand, don’t force it).
• Align the sail panel clips and press it back on by hand until it snaps flush.
